Resolved Question

Samsung Series 7

Oct 10, 2011 12:12PM PDT

I've been to several Best Buys and searched several online retailers for a Samsung Series 7 laptop with a back-lit keyboard, but failed. Can anyone enlighten as to whether or not these exist?

Any help would be much appreciated!

Samsung Series 7

Samsung has announced 4 models of the Series 7 notebook for the US market, but the Best Buy version is the only one that has been released. Reports vary, and Samsung has gotten quiet about it, but the other models are expected sometime in the next 3 weeks.

The Best Buy model, NP700Z5B-W01UB is a bit stripped down, and as you say, has no back-lit keyboard. Samsung does not list a back-lit keyboard on their website, but if you look at some of the video reviews out there, it seems that the other models have one.

FYI, the major difference between the Best Buy Series 7 and the rest is no Express Cache, 512MB Graphic Memory (vs. 1GB) and no Bluetooth. There's also a question about the screen, but so far it's unclear if the other models will have a different screen.

Thanks for your reply! I really appreciated it and helped me from purchasing a disappointment. Have you seen the news about the Series 7? I just read about it here and thought you might find it interesting LINK.

Thanks again! You saved me from having to hassle with Best Buy for a return.
