Samsung Series 6 tv won't power on. No help from Samsung

Feb 2, 2015 9:59AM PST

Samsung tv just went out. Won't power on. Only a red light blinks. I am disappointed in the quality of the product for the price. I purchased the tv 3 and a half years ago, and already it failed. Called Samsung to see if they could help. After an hour and a half on the phone, they said that because it was out of warranty, I would have two options. Fix it myself, or "extend" the warranty so it would cover the repair ($419.00 for one year of service protection) YIKES! That's about half of what a new set would cost. I'm really leaning towards buying a new set (not a Samsung). Depending on what the cost of repair comes out to be, might be time for a new big screen. One that lasts more than 3 years...

That usually is the best or cheapest exit.

Folks, take the extended warranty as OOW rates are far more than that.

Thanks. Been there done that. I sent it to a local shop to fix. I hope it lasts at least another 3 years, then I'll buy a new set (not a Samsung)...
