Samsung Series 550 LCD Screen vertical yellow band

I have a 50" Samsung LCD TV which has developed a 6" to 8" light yellow vertical band which comes and goes. Any ideas?

Is either a connection or chip is coming or going (bad/good.) It isn't very useful alone in diagnosis so get the service manual and follow the charts on repair. If this is not possible, arrange for service.
