If you are still offline you should pack and return the unit since you couldn't get the unit to perform.

Hey,
Does anyone know if there is a way to install a driver to make the scanner on the Samsung SCX4521F work on Macs (MacBook in my case)?
The scan driver with this printer does not work and the Samsung people says the scanner is not Mac compatible despite the manual saying it is.

What application are you trying to use to get something in from the scanner? I use Photoshop Elements and my scanner had a photoshop plug-in. I found the Epson application included was buggy unless I used Photoshop Elements.
If you have Elements, try loading the plug-in and using that. You might also be able to use PictBridge or Twain.
The Samsung SCX line has some compatibility issues with OS X Leopard.
I was able to successfully scan under Leopard (10.5.2) with a USB connection by simply installing the included drivers and then using the "Import Image" function under the "File" menu of the standard OS X Preview application.

Thanks for the info on this thread. I just got my Samsung SCX-4521F via slickdeals for $130. I couldn't figure out how to scan to the mac, but now I know. Any suggestions on optimal file size, etc? If the software worked right, I could scan to optimize for e-mail, right? any workarounds for that?
I have the Samsung SCX-4521F connected to an IMACG% OS10.4.11 and am unable to scan. Can you please advise specifically on how to go about it.
Thanks In Advance
I have a Samsung SCX-4521f Scanner, but i can not make scan. please help to do the necessary steps.
