Samsung screen disappears

Funny you should have the same fault as me,
with an E700 - I never dropped it but after one year the screen goes black. If I just open the phone slightly, 45 degrees, the screen appears, otherwise it's black. Obviously a design weakness. The shop people said it's common. But over a year, so just outside warranty.
