Question

Samsung SA550 23"

Couple of times this week my screen has gone completely black, and windows is still running.

It happens mostly at random times (browsing internet..)

The monitor does not turn off, rather the screen renders black over the entire screen, once it went grey. This computer is now 6 years old (desktop + monitor). I replaced roughly 6 months ago my PSU and GPU. Everything was fine untill a few weeks ago. Now i'm worried that my desktop is dying on me or there is a problem with my gpu or psu.

This issue is 'solved' by forcefully powering off the machine and restarting it.

The GPU is an nvidia 960 2go with most recent drivers, and I have windows 7.

I checked if anything was loose with the wires, everything is correctly plugged in. I updated the drivers of the monitor and everything is uptodated according to firmware program.

I'm thinking of formatting the pc, i scanned for virus/malwares, nothing.

Can anyone help?

Re: black screen

It's either the old monitor or the new video card. I'd start with trying another monitor.
