Question

Samsung S5

Mar 4, 2016 10:30PM PST

My S5 will drop my wifi at home and not pick it back up. I have wasted a lot of data because of this. I stream a lot and now I have to make sure that my data is turned off first just incase the wifi drops. Has anyone else had this problem? It is the on of many problems with my S5 but this is the most annoying.

Too many times.

One recurring thing that seems to help is to factory reset and not install apps. Just use it without installing a lot of apps. For some this is unacceptable and they flame out over this.

If the issues continue you try on other hotspots and routers. Many routers have out of date firmware so check that too.

Wifi drop issue

These phones are expensive junk. I had one and it did the same thing. Whos your carrier. I have AT&T. Could be a defect though. My husband has the same phone and he doesn't seem to have a problem with wifi. He has more apps. than I did

Be forwarned as to other ssues. My phone later aquired a spontaneous hairline crack in the screen which caused a slow bleed in the LCD. (It wasnt dropped) Samsung said it was abuse (was still under warranty). Funny how they didn't want me to ship them the battery. The batteries are know to overheat and expand thus causing screens to crack. Mine wasn't charging at the time though. Mystery death. It was in a case and had a screen protector Now I have a hunk of junk. $200 plus to repair.
