Question

Samsung's Galaxy Tab 2 or Google's Nexus Tablet

Does anyone have personal experience with either of these to let me know if I can restrict access to the internet? My kids want one but I would like to be able exercise some parental control.

Answer
In your case, the Kindle Fire may be it.

That's awesome! Wish the Kindle Fire HD had all I needed though. I currently have the Kindle Fire (original) and love it. But if I researched correctly (which I may not have) the Kindle Fire HD does not have the capability to take video and pictures which is something my kids REALLY, REALLY want. If I buy them one of the others, I can keep the KF for myself Grin .

Thanks for the link. It was something I had not found before on my research. It was very enlightening.

So about the Camera App on the Fire HD.

So that's part of it.

Sorry but I didn't know you wanted more. I found a simpler camera to do a much better job than a tablet.

HOWEVER you might be pushed into an iPad which does have some OK video features and editing and Parental Controls.

I didn't find such on the first two you listed.

Wow. So much to think about. I really appreciate you finding all this info on the Kindle for me. I am going to take a couple days to review the videos and contemplate how well they would work for our family. Thanks!

Kids Place

You can get apps that restrict permissions. I personally have Kids Place on my tablet. When my daughter gets on the tablet I open Kids Place which has its own desktop with all the apps that I have set to be ok for her to use. Kids Place also allows me to put a time limit on how long she can be on it (she really hates that feature). Anyways, I would be more concerned about the tablet..and then just get an app to do the permissions.
