Samsung Remote Control

Dec 14, 2012 12:20AM PST

I just bought 3 LED and 1 plasma Samsung TV and all 4 have the same problem. The P-Size button on the remote does not work for much of anything. It seems like this could be easily fixed with software.

Most movies are a narrow strip across the screen and I like them to fill the screen. I had been using a Panasonic plasma and the remote with it had an Aspect button which worked on everything no matter what type of screen was displayed. The Samsung button works a little with the cable signal but that's about it.

It needs a Zoom function for the narrow screens plus a Fill, Full, Stretch option. Please start working on this ASAP : )

Re: Thanks for the model codes

Hi dfox_5,

I'm sorry to hear about the problems you've been having. If you would, please tell me what's connected to each of these models, and how they're connected.

I ask this because for non-HD modes you're limited to these modes: 16:9, Zoom1, Zoom2, 4:3

But for HDMI connections you have: 16:9, Wide Fit, 4:3, Screen Fit, Smart View 1, Smart View 2 (Smart View is limited to LED TVs).

Hope that helps!

Connections
Dec 14, 2012 7:20AM PST

I have Sony bluray players connected to all. 3 Sony's on the LED TV's are BDP-S590 and 1 is a NSZ-GT1 on the Plasma. All are connected via HDMI. All have a Charter Cable HD box connected by HDMI.

With a bluray dvd or with Vudu, I can't change the picture to anything that will fill the screen. Not much of a problem with TV since all 16:9 channels always fill the screen. With Vudu or bluray, if it does anything, it will still leave a small black strip top and bottom. Most movies from Vudu are that narrow strip kind with a wide black strip top and bottom and I think all are like that with a bluray dvd.

My Panasonic would adjust the picture to fill the screen no matter what it was. Seems like it would be so easy to fix with software. I noticed I had new software update for the 3 led's today also.
