Samsung Refrigerator issue and supprt

Oct 16, 2018 3:55AM PDT

Exactly a year after purchasing my Samsung French Door refrigerator, the handle fell off of the freezer. I wasn't even in the kitchen when it happened. I realized that there was a part missing on the handle. Neither Samsung or the extended warranty people said that this was covered, as they deem the handle to be "cosmetic" only. How is something that is needed to open the freezer only cosmetic. The Samsung Parts department told me I had to buy an entire handle since they don't sell the part that was missing at a cost of over $100. Now they are telling me that the part is back ordered and they have no idea how long it will be. This is a double slap in the face. I am so frustrated that I have to dig my fingers into that door opening to open the freezer and even more frustrated that Samsung and their affiliates won't take responsibility for this issue. If the part is backordered, that tells me that I'm not the only one with the problem.
