Samsung PS50B650 dead pixels

by mehdi86 / April 7, 2010 6:52 PM PDT

I have bought a samsung ps50b650 about a month ago and it has got 2 dead pixels just today (One has gone red and the other blue).
I was wondering how many dead pixels in my TV is considered an issue in guarantee period? (I mean is covered for changing panel or fixing)
It has about 17 months of guarantee remaining
However I have updated the firmware 3 days ago, could it be a possible reason?

I'm really sorry to hear that you're having this issue.

There is a set standard by the service center where a panel is replaced based on the number or types of pixels that go out. It's pretty rare these days to have panels with broken pixels, but let's see if we can make an unlucky situation a good one.

I would recommend calling the Samsung customer service center in your region and asking if your set can be replaced.

I also noted that you said you have 17 months remaining on your warranty. This is usually not the timeframe for the manufacturer's warranty, so that may be an option to choose as well.

I don't know about other parts of the world, but in the U.S., a panel can be replaced. It's quite possible that a similar fix may be available for you.

Samsung in IRAN
by mehdi86 / April 12, 2010 10:27 PM PDT

Dear Samsung HD_Tech
Unfortnately Iranian Samsung Reseller (SamService) support and warranty is extremely poor because my cousin bought a 50B650 one week after me but when their official technician came to install it TV didn't even work (just a black screen) and He was told that TV should be fixed instead of changing! till now he is still wating for TV ...
It's the long story of Samsung in IRAN. Unfortunately I have come to the conclusion that it was a mistake to buy or recommend anyone (like my cousin) to buy Samsung in IRAN.
I don't even expect that they would pay any attention to issues like broken or dead pixels.
for them it's mostly a matter of selling; no respect no right ...
Best regards

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
