Samsung PN50B450B1D Thin Vertical lines

Aug 1, 2016 8:30PM PDT

Hello,

Make: Samsung
Type: Plasma
Model: PN50B450B1D
Pictures: http://m.imgur.com/a/wG0rf

I have multicolored thin vertical lines that appear on all inputs, over the menu and test screen. I have tried to clean the ribbons, updating the firmware and resetting the picture.

The tv also clicks 2-3 times before starting up and has a blown capacitor on the power board.

Anyone have any advice or tips on where to start?

Cheers,

Tom

Remove from service.

That blown cap is likely it. Replace that board. Leaving it in service can blow out other boards.

Ordered Capacitors Prior to Message

Thanks for the quick reply Proffitt. I ordered a capacitor kit for this tv that includes the visually blown capacitor. I am wondering if that would be a good try first or if I should replace the whole board. I have a second TV to use in the mean time so it will be out of service for now.

Would fixing the capacitor issue fix the vertical lines as well?

Cheers,

Tom

So ive replaced the blown capacitor and now it only clicks once on and once off.... Is that normal (parents tv and I never really noticed it)?

The vertical lines are still there, any advice?

Cheers,

Tom
