Feb 20, 2012 12:19AM PST

When i first turn on my Samsung Plasma, i get a full screent of green verticle lines and high pitched squeal from speakers. after 10 seconds it will turn itself off and back on again and it works normally. I also have a Comcast Motorolla DVR and i wondering if it is the TV or the DVR.

I have not tried swapping them out. Why would this start happening if I have used an HDMI cable for a year or so already?

But cables can fail just sitting there. I learned this lesson over and over and why I always have a spare cable along with other items like the component cable set, optical cables and a VOM.
