So you are indeed on your own.
HOWEVER a good tech might get in there and craft some hard plastic blocks and correct it that way.
This is going to take an uber tech. I wish you luck in finding one.
I have a Samsung PN58A650 that I bought back in mid-2009 and still works terrific! The picture is great and have had no problems whatsoever to date. Tonight we were watching the Cleveland Cavs game and the glass panel that protects the screen literally started to slide down the face of the TV (one side dropped about 1/2 to 3/4 of an inch). Upon closer inspection I saw that the bottom of the front screen encasment had also pulled away from the metal back cover. I called the Samsung Service line to ask them what my options were (clearly I knew that the warranty is up) and all I was given was a certified technician center to call and they gave me no other worthwhile information - i.e. what materials to use for a repair, recommendations, etc - nothing worthwhile. Towards what I thought was the end of the call, upon asking how big of a safety concern this might be, (since I have 2 young kids around and the unit weighs something in the neighborhood of 150 lbs and the thick glass pane must be a significant chunk of the total weight), the Samsung customer service rep quickly told me not to contact the certified tech center and decided to escalate the matter to the next level. After he talked with someone at the 'next level' he returned to tell me to yet again to go ahead and contact the certified tech center for service, said it was not being escalated, and quickly pushed off the line basically. I searched around on a number of forums and found this issue to be a rather popular problem, not quite an epidemic, but a known problem for sure! If anyone can give me some insight as to how to get this fixed (or how I can fix it myself) I'd be much appreciative of the gesture. Samsung has helped me out in the past and was great. Now after this experience, and all of the other posts I have read about the occurrence, its pretty clear they knew they had a problem and just did their best to bury their head(s) in the sand, so I'm rather disappointed. Almost all of my household appliances, tv's, phones, etc are of the Samsung brand, and I feel this experience was a bit of a slap in the face.
I hope someone can pass along some advice.
Thanks & kind regards!!!
