Question

samsung plasma screen went blank red light blinking..

Jan 18, 2015 6:39AM PST

My 58 inch plasma tv screen randomly went blank .. when I tried to turn it back on it made the "start-up" sound then the screen tried to come on (assumption) and it did not.. it stayed blank.. and the red power light blinks on and off.. I called samsung and checked out other forums and everyone said "capicitors" or "Power supply" so I bought a new power supply, installed it and it's still doing the same thing... any suggestions? I really don't want to call a technician and be out $300-400

I know that shops that charge for estimates are rare here in LaLaLand.

Plasma issues are all over the map but a recurring hot zone topic is the cracked screen that is such a hot zone that I won't go there. That is, it seems the screen is a bit more fragile than LCD or Tube TVs and this, when it is that, is usually more than a new set.
