Question

Samsung Picture Fading (Gray Spot and Bar)

May 7, 2015 10:24AM PDT

I bought a new Samsung over Christmas 2014

Model UN55HU8550

Last month I noticed a large gray blotch started appearing in the upper right hand corner. It was intermittent. Eventually it moved the the middle of the screen and now goes across the entire screen. I have call and chatted with Samsung 6 times so far. Set appointments for remote access. Unfortunately both times the issue was not there so they said that they couldn't help. I've changed out all of the cabling, dumped Uverse and went back to DirecTV. Same issue only getting more frequent. Resent all factory setting, verified software is up todate. On 5/4/15 Samsung said that they would have someone call and send out a repair guy. 3 days latter still no call. Call Samsung today only to have someone tell me that they just put in the request today 5/7/15. Offered to send picks of issue and need some advice. What could be causing the issue? How or how can I call to get someone from Samsung to accutally do what they say they are going to do. I can share photo's of all 3 failed self tests if anyone is interested.

With Kind Regards,
Frustrated Finsfan1966

Is it just a spot or is it look like cloudy? Does this appear on all sources?

Given it's well inside warranty, make the call to Samsung for service. As to cause, there are so many causes that it's best to leave that up to the tech to answer.

Same for Samsung. Let them send the repair person. Asking for what will be done before the tech sees it, well I can understand folk want to know the future but that's the future.

If they drop the ball, there's a Service Issues threat at the top of this forum.
