Samsung P3600 Bluray Firmware Update Problem

Hi cnet Members,

I have the Samsumg P3600 BluRay Player. Out of the box it was v1.00, so I downloaded the (Australian) current 1.02 firmware and followed the instructions to update via flashdrive. The system recognised the new version & asked if I wanted to proceed I press OK and a few seconds later the unit seems to shut down with a message on the dash saying 'USB UP'. I left it for hours incase it was working through something, but there was no change. In the end I had to disconnect the units power to restart it which was fine but the firmware has not upgraded. Inserting the flash drive afresh the same message pops up and I tried the process again with the same results. So I tried an ethernet update and it says I have the current version, but in the menu's it still say's i'm on v1.00...driving me a little nuts.
Am I missing something....
