I'd restore the machine to factory condition and then restore apps and user files because it looks like you already tried the usual.
My friend has a Samsung NP550P laptop running windows8
suddenly the display became stretched beyond the ability to use correctly. ( all apps work but have to force shutdown with power button)
even swiped all the way to the right part of the desktop is beyond the screen, in addition the first inch or so of the top of the screen is duplicated at the bottom of the screen.
However with the secondary output the display is fine and can be used as normal.
The contrast and or saturation looks all washed out also.
I have adjusted the resolution to no avail,
I tried to find a scaling tool in control panel or video properties to shrink the desktop to fit the screen and push the duplicated section off, also to no avail. It is frustrating.
The cable from motherboard to display/webcam was recently replaced due to flickering but that should have nothing to do with this.
