Bunniegirl,
I think what may be happening is that on a shut down, several software applications are closing on the video card, which would cause the monitor to intermittently search for an available signal. If this is happening while the monitor is on during normal use, I might suggest that there was an issue, but if it's only happening on the shut down, it's likely caused by the video card.
Hope that helps!

Samsung 2443BW 24" wide flatscreen, Windows XP, DVI cable into video card...
When I shut down system, there is a small square icon in the upper left hand corner that flashes...from the text of ANALOG to DIGITAL...this happens about 6 or more times and then the monitor shuts down.
Question is...how do I know I am getting all that digital serves me? Is it possible that I made a mistake in installation and some how I am getting a split signal? Hence the mixed flash before shut down?
Here is the one fact I think may be the issue...I failed to upgrade the operating system prior to the monitor install. It asked me to back up the data before the install and I don't know how to. So I didn't upgrade. Is that the culprit? Is there a culprit? How do I know I am getting full digital? Just assume?
Thanks if you have any light to shed on my problem...that is...if it is a problem.
Thanks Bunnie
