You find plea after plea about USB. And the forum sticky is all over this with "use firewire." The 4 pin Firewire cables are easy to find at amazon.com or other places. I paid little for mine at http://www.geeks.com/details.asp?invtid=F3N402-03-ICE-DT&cat=CBL but when I got mine it was the plain black one for half that.
I purchased Studio Ultimate with Movie Box and installed it onto my new HP Pavillion PC with Windows Vista. After several attempts at capturing, and conversations with Pinnacle Tech Support, I am told that the Studio 11 cannot capture video from anything other than firewire. However, I have the movie box, which is supposed to enable this to happen (is it not)? Studio 11 is not recognizing the camcorder. I tried to update the Samsung driver for the camcorder. However, the drivers downloaded are only for Windows 98, Me, XP and 2000, not Vista. I can't seem to find a mini DV to 1394 cable (the small size 1394 plug) to go from the camcorder to the computer and by-pass the movie box. There is no larger 1394 plug on my laptop. Can anyone provide any work arounds or any other assistance? I had to have my friend capture 3 hours of video on her computer with Windows XP, transfer to my Seagate protable hard drive, and then give it back to me in order to have files to use.
