Samsung - LNA650 - Flash Lighting Issue

May 25, 2009 10:55AM PDT

Mr Samsung -

Im hoping you can help me with the issue Im having with the above model. I believe the tv has the flash lighting issue - the top and bottom right corners are lighter than the rest of the panel.

Samsung did have a tech come out but since the issue is only visible when the room is dark (and the visit was during the day) the tech was unable to confirm the issue.

My experience with the phone support has been hit or miss and I thought this might be a better route to get some resolution. Its been a little frusterating for me since I havent even paid the tv off yet (it was a big purchase for me) and I cant even enjoy it to its full potential. I have purchased many Samsung products and hope to purchase more in the future. I appreciate any help. Thank you.

stealth_78,

I'd be happy to look into this, however, I am not part of the service department. What I can do is send your transaction number (4001xxxxxx, 2001xxxxx, or something like that) to the service department for consideration.

That said, some screen uniformity on LCD panels is considered normal - extreme version are not, and if you have pictures and can upload them to photobucket or imageshack, that would be helpful too.

I can't promise anything, but I'll be happy to see what I can do to assist.

Hi -

Thanks for your quick reply and I apologize for my late response.

I have tried taking pictures before and it didnt appear to show up well so I assume it will be considered within "acceptable levels." I find this very dissapointing since I spent so much money on this item and to me there shouldnt be an issue that is visible with this type of purchase.

I have one other question as well. When there is fast motion (or for that matter sometimes any motion) side to side, the picture seems to be quite juddered. I have a smaller Samsung LCD 32" and I dont notice it on there very much. I dont have the 120hz on because I dont like the way it makes the picture look. Is it possible it is more than what would normally be reasonable? Thanks again for your help.

stealth_78,

The picture may be more juddered because it's a larger panel and abnormalities not found on a smaller panel may show on a bigger panel. A lot of that also has to do with the compression of the signal in many broadcasts. Processing works out a lot of the issues, but if the compression rate is high (and there's no way to know if that's the case, unfortunately), it may manifest itself on your panel that way.

Hope that helps.
