Samsung LN52A650: Can it play Apps? (Netflix)

Nov 3, 2010 9:56AM PDT

We purchased our TV a few years back and noticed that Netflix has become available on many of these newer TVs. I'm just curious is there is a software update available that might allow us to take advantage of this feature as well. Our TV hasn't connected to the internet previously, and it would be a hassle trying to get an ethernet cord there - which is why we havent connected it previously.

We currently use our Xbox360 to connect to Nexflix but my Mother & Grandfather both are not very comfortible using an Xbox to use the Netflix feature.

Coldkilla9,

The UN52A650 doesn't have any updates that include Netflix functionality.

Thanks.

Whoever initially locked this thread really is a jerk. This was a perfectly legitimate question. If it was a Samsung staffer, you've really got some balls treating your customers this way.

The forums are on new servers and things happen. It was not HD_Tech's fault and the thread was unlocked as soon as we noticed it.

Please try again,

I have this set -
Currently use only over the air antenna - having built in apps would not work anyway.

I use PS3 for apps.
The PS3 uses Apple Airport - tethered to the PS3 to access WiFi.
Works quite well.

The Folks might like using a DVD player - that has the apps - and on-line option to NetFlix - Hulu - etc.

Good Luck.
