Samsung LN46A860 and SA Explorer 4250HD

Has any one experienced the IR issues with this model and cable box? I'm planning on taking the plunge as the price is right on this Samsung model. Of course after reading the myriad IR issues I'm hesitant. My cable company is Cablevision (NYC) and the SA Explorer 4250HD (non DVR) would be my upgraded cable box. Please advise.
