Samsung ln46a650 problems Help!!!!

Dec 16, 2008 7:11AM PST

Let's make a long story short. I purchased a ln46a650 lcd tv and I have had nothing but problems.
I had to return this set 17 times. Yeah that's right, 17 times. So you probably think that I am crazy. Why would someone do this so many times? Well, I have receipts to prove it. I went to three stores to buy this T.V. Every set had a major problem with it. Eighty percent of the T.V.'s had major light issues with clouding all over them, even if you put the back light on 3 you can still see the clouds very clearly and twenty percent of the T.V.'s had burnt pixels and hacked up screens. Why me? Why did I try so many times? Because the picture on this T.V. is the best I have ever seen. So, I finally stuck with this recent one which I still have and every thing was going good for three months and all of a sudden, holy cow, clouds from hell. Why Samsung, why?
I called customer support and had to talk to customer relations explained what I have been going through and she said to fax my receipts to her and she asked me what I wanted. I told her that I just want my T.V. replaced with a new one and I don't want it repaired. Why would I want it repaired? I went through 17 just to replace it! Not happy! So she said that I would hear from her by the end of the week, so let's see what happens. Does anyone disagree with me? I mean, how would you feel? Beat out of $2,200.00! That's how you would feel. I hope Samsung will stand behind their product and do the right thing by replacing my set that's only 3 months old. I'll write back and let anyone who cares what happens, and if anyone else has had any issues like this, please write back to me and let me know. Thanks! Sad

cdemartino,

I'm sorry to hear you're having troubles.

It's not that I don't "want to touch this one", it's just that there's not much I can add.

I sympathize with your points, and since it has been escalated to ECR, that's a decision making process higher than what I can control.

I feel your pain

I have the LN52A650 and for the first two months my picture was absolutely beautiful. Now, as of last week, it to is very cloudy looking, very grainy, blurred looking picture and menu. The detail that was once there is now gone. I'm very dissapointed. A technician will be out shortly to swap the video board I believe. I am not happy about having to have someone come out and open up my brand new $2200 television.
