Samsung LN46A650 Input Lag

Nov 26, 2008 1:53PM PST

I purchased the LN46A650 10 days ago and the picture quality is excellent on it. Playing games on this tv has horrible input lag which makes games like Halo 3 and Call of Duty 4 unplayable. Is there a fix or an upcoming firmware update to fix the lag in games? I tried game mode on this tv and its overly bright and has too much contrast that effects the picture and most of the picture controls are disabled to change the picture settings.

Of several issues....
Nov 26, 2008 2:17PM PST

gregpod9,

Of all the things I've seen said about the A650 series, I haven't seen anything regarding lag time. I'm not sure why that would be happening. Game Mode would have been my suggestion, but you also may want to calibrate your gameplay in the game console (if applicable). Many games do have calibration adjustments for this purpose.

If that doesn't help, you might want to check or update to the latest firmware.

Keep me posted.

PS3 Samsung LCD LAG FiX
Dec 27, 2008 5:59AM PST

The Fix:
1. Connect your PS3 using HDMI Input 2.
2. SELECT or RENAME the HDMI Input to PC.
3. On the PS3 start-up menu go to Settings---> Display ---->
Choose HDMI ----> DO NOT choose AUTOMATIC ----> SELECT CUSTOM ----->
4. Now, Select all the Resolution options EXCEPT 720p. This will force your games into 1080p mode.
5. Save and complete the display setup.
6. Turn off the PS3. Turn off the TV.
7. Turn on the TV. Turn on the PS3.
8. Complete! (Lag eliminated). Please spread this around!

*The key to eliminating ALL LAG is modern LCD's need to be in PC MODE (NOT GAME MODE) and the Source MUST BE IN 1080p so that the TV can use it's NATIVE RESOLUTION.*
