Is it still under the service repair's warranty? I have a Samsung 40" LCD LN40B750 with the same problem that's a little over 2 years old. I just recently had it serviced at a cost of about $300. It was the PSB power/inverter circuit. The TV was just returned on 11/26 and seems to be working fine. If the problem happens again, I will probably ship the TV to Samsung as a gift to the CEO, so that they can experience the same frustration.
Was talking to someone at work and they have the same problem. It seems clear that this is a problem that many people have, yet Samsung has been of no help. At this point all I do is make sure I let everyone know of this problem and all the other Samsung problems I read about so that they know what they're getting into when they buy a Samsung. Of course my recommendation is always - Don't buy a Samsung. If Samsung stood behind its products they would alleviate much of the bad word of mouth press they are receiving on their LCDs. Next time I'm going with a Sony- you may pay more upfront, but I see now it would cost much less in the long run.
Purchased this LCD TV 8-2011 and 13 months later a large POP sound. Black screen but audio still worked. supposedly had it repaired but it flickers 1/3 top of screen but the main image is still good. I really do not think we have to spend 500.00 every 14 months for a Samsung TV..I know Samsung would like that for sale but for us the consumer it put a financial burden.
Should a TV that is not used that much and is taken good care of for a guest room last less than 15 months?. I bought this Samsung TV with confidence, I will call them and see what to do. the warranty is up, Oh, one month after the one year expired this happened?. I like Samsung TV's but i cannot afford this expense every 14 months..just don't know..
