Samsung LN32A450 sporadic shutdown and restart

by i-want-free-music / December 21, 2008 7:39 AM PST

Hi, we're going crazy. After 3 attempts to repair the LN32A450, the TV will still decide to shutdown on its own and restart. The technician replaced all the cards. But again as we know they may send you some refurbished hardware, no wonder the problem is back.
One of the attempt was to flash the firmware with the latest code from the Samsung web site, to no success.

I wonder if anyone has been experiencing the same problem, and if so what was the conclusion or resolution (if any).

The TV is 6 months old, if this does not get fix soon, we'll apply the store "lemon" warranty and get a new set. But this time, even if it means putting my hands in my wallet, I'll have to change brand.... We lost faith that Samsung knows what the problem is and are not ready to restart the story with just another set.

If anyone can help.... tks in advance,

Sylvain

Samsung TV

I have the 46in Samsung LN46A650. I have had the tv for about 6 months and one day it just started to do the same thing you stated. It will stay on for about 30 secs and then reboot itself. I have applied the latest firmware but it did not help. The technician is coming out in a day or 2 to check it out. Is there anything specific I need to mention to him. Did you ever get yours fixed? This is very frustrating because as you know, these tv's are not cheap. Previously I had a Sony projection tv that lasted us 10 years and is still working perfectly. Guess I should have went with another Sony.....

LE40A795 restarting sporadically
by helsinki37 / October 14, 2009 5:04 AM PDT

We've been having the same problem on an LE40A795. It switches off and restarts several times a day, sometimes 4 or 5 times in an hour, sometimes not at all for hours.

Did anyone find a solution to this? I only recently updated the firmware, although it was doing it before this started.

Sounds like one of the components is heat sensative (ie: a chip).

They have a tendency to shut down when they overheat. Perhaps you've seen/had that experience with your computer, especially when the CPU fan failed or you tried to "over-clock" the CPU.

DO NOT TRY THIS YOURSELF! But when the TV service rep gets there, have him remove the back cover(s) on the TV set and see if it still happens. If it doesn't, then it's probably a heat related problem. If the Service Tech can't find the bas component, a small inexpensive fan (similar to those used in laptops) may solve the problem.)

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
