Dec 2, 2008 6:55PM PST

I just bought this TV on Black Friday. I ave it hooked up to my ps3 through an HDMI cable. I'd like some calibration settings please, its a dark room. I'm not entirely happy with any of the original video settings. Thanks

Just saw these on the Web as suggested settings. I haven't even opened our box yet to test them. They are:
Settings
Picture Menu
Backlight 1
Contrast 93
Brightness 54
Sharpness 0
Color 45
Tint 50/50

Good luck and again I havn't tested them to see.

I'll give them a shot. Could you send me the link to where you found this? I've been looking around the web and I wasn't able to find anything, maybe I can get some help there too. Once again, thanks

I want to calibrate the video settings in my TV to accomodate my dark room. I have the Samsung LN32A300 hooked up to my PS3, which I use to play video games and watch Blu-Ray.

Everyone is going to see settings differently, and ambient light (amount of light in the room) is also a factor in a good calibration.

Why not start with the settings that were posted as a starting point, and then fine tune them to your liking?

Just a thought!

I have changed the settings a couple of times to my liking and then I found myself changing them again, when i watched a movie, or I watched anything in SD. I know websites like www.tweaktv.com have calibration settings but I didn't find any for my tv. I started a thread there, made a request, and haven't gotten a response.

That I do not know. I realized that SD programing looks a little dull in the Samsung but you can add more color, maybe a little more contrast and sharpness, and less brightness, that should help. The good thing about this TV is that it remembers the display settings for each input so you don't have to change it every time you change inputs. As for the HD programing looking better on your SD TV? I don't know, play with the settings of both TV's... I don't know...
