Samsung LN22B350 Picture Mode Problem

by JustWannaSay / May 16, 2010 11:30 AM PDT

Hi: I bought a Samsung 22" LCD television (model no. LN22B350) less than three months ago. Up until two days ago, it was working fine.

Now, when I go into the Picture Menu and change the mode to "Movie", it stays that way for only 20 to 40 minutes before the screen goes black (about 2 seconds) and changes to "Dynamic" mode. It never used to do this; it always remained on whatever mode I set it at, with no problem.

Could you please tell me what could be the possible cause? The unit has not been dropped or subjected to any kind rough handling, so I'm at a loss. Thanks in advance for your feedback.

Samsung LN22B350 Picture Mode Problem

The bad news is that your unit is in SHOP Mode.

The good news is that it's a simple setting change, and you'll be back to enjoying your shows in Movie Mode.

There are several ways to do this, but the easiest is - with the TV on - press and hold the EXIT button on your remote until you're prompted to reset to factory standards. Select YES and let the television restart. It will prompt you to choose language, and go through the Plug and Play setup (rescan your channels, etc).

At one point, it will give you the option for HOME or SHOP mode. Select HOME, and after you go through the rest of the setup, it will stop reverting back to Dynamic.

Sometimes this can get enabled if people hold down the MENU button on the television for too long.

Let me know how it turns out. If that doesn't do it, we can try a few more things. (I try to keep a few tricks up my sleeve!)

Hi again: I did what you suggested and, so far, so good. It's been about 30 minutes since I changed the settings.

From now on, maybe I should stick to using the TOOLS button instead of the MENU button when I want to get into the PICTURE MODE window. Thanks for your help. It's greatly appreciated.
