Samsung LN-T4671F flickering - backlight or inverter?

We've enjoyed out Samsung LN-T4671F 46" LCD TV for almost 5 years. Samsung fixed the on/off cycling clicking problem free even though the TV was already out of warranty, which impressed us with their commitment to customer satisfaction.

But now we're experienceing a flickering and vertical ghosting problem on the right side of the screen. The screen also appears to divide itself into 4 horizontal bands that are somewhat different in brightness. It clears up after about 10-15 min., but we continue to get sporadic intermittent dark flickering in the lower half of the screen for as long as the TV is on. Is this two different problems? Both the backlights and the right inverter board are failing?

Is it worth fixing, or time for a new TV?
