Samsung LN-T4065F HDMI Sounds works with XB360 not PC

Feb 6, 2009 2:17AM PST

TV 1: Samsung LN-T4065F
TV 2: Viewsonic 32" (forgot model but older than Samsung)
Device 1: XB360 Elite
Device 2: MSI Media Live HTPC
Cable: HDMI

I am using the same HDMI cable and the same HDMI port on the Samsung TV and I get sound with the XB360 but not with the PC. But before you blame the PC the same PC works with an older Viewsonic LCD TV.

So what is going on?

nickst,

I'm not quite sure. I was thinking it may fall under the lines of an HDCP issue that may not have been part of an older television, but if you're able to get video, it kind of knocks that theory down a little.

Do you have the latest driver for the HDMI port? (Shot in the dark?)

The HDMI Port for the TV or the PC? I am guessing you mean the TV since the PC does work on another TV.

I have been looking and I stumbled on a forum that had updated drivers for my LN-T4065F but when I checked my firmware and mainboard version i had 1036 and 1011 (cannot remember which is firmware and mainboard) and they said if you have 1007, 1009, 1011 then do not do the update.

Let me know because I am tired of this issue.

Actually, the PC since the drivers are responsible for establishing the connection.

Just a suggestion.
