Samsung LN-T3242H Firmware availability?

Hello,

I've been a Samsung LN-T3242H owner for over 2 years now and it hit me that I have never upgraded the firmware for the set (I purchased it in June'07). After much searching I have found that I, like many other owners, experience a familiar screen-tearing issue with HD content via Component and HDMI connections.

Apparently a firmware was released that fixed this issue for most people but I cannot find the update firmware anywhere whatsoever. Is it possible to find this through Samsung or any other source?

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks.

westc07,

I don't see it on the website, but I'm going to check with one of our product specialists to see if they know of any issues regarding your symptoms - and the firmware.

westc07,

Just an update - it DID exist. I'm going to see if I can get this put up on the site or at least make it available if I can get a hold of it.

When did the tearing symptom start? Do you mind if I ask?

Thanks again, sir.

The screen tearing has actually been an issue ever since I've owned the television. It was just one of those things that I ended up getting used to but was always problematic. It occurs about 1/4 of the way up from the bottom of the screen and can last anywhere from 1 to 5 seconds on estimation.

this was the same problem I was having .. the correct update to fix the problem was released on May 26th 2008 and the file should be called '20080526115828718_T-JASMINE.exe' BUT it's not on the Samsung website.

To user004. Post deleted.

In reply to: Samsung LN-T3242H Firmware availability?

Sorry but I deleted your post.

Two main reasons.

1] That shortened URL link. For most people there is no easy way to check the link, and that could be dangerous. Who knows where it actually links to?

2] That firmware update. We don't know which exact model it is designed for, nor if it was modified. We don't know which region the firmware is intended for. The website points to U.S. models, but the name of the file does not match the original firmware update file's name.

All in all, too dangerous to try without the express help and guidance of Samsung. That's why I deleted your post.
