It's more likely that it may be a board or electronics rather than the panel itself. However, without an actual physical diagnosis from a technician, I can't determine what the issue would be.

I have a Samsung LCD. Just recently after the tv has been on for an hour or so, it gets red and green artifacts that flash on the screen where shadows should be. The sidebars also will intermittently flash red artifacts when I'm watching standard tv when it should be solid black. What does this mean? Is the picture screen failing? I've check the plugs and it isn't that. It doesn't happen all the time either. But it is beginning to happen more and more. The skin tones are also turning more red. It happens whether I'm watch an HD or standard signal. Is this something that is fixable? TV is only a few years old.
