Resolved Question

Samsung LN-R4080 has no picture or sound?

Sep 7, 2011 1:06PM PDT

Hello everyone! I'm not sure if this is the right section to post in, but if you could help me out it would be greatly appreciated! I recently acquired a Samsung LN<span id="INSERTION_MARKER">-R4080 flat screen TV and I don't know much about it other than it turns on but nothing is displayed and there is no sound. It's not the backlight, because the screen goes from black to a lighter black. I'm comfortable with digging around inside if that's needed, but I don't know what is wrong! So if you could help me out, that'd be great. Thanks so much!

Acquired? New? That's a warranty issue.

If it's from dumpster, tell that otherwise head back to the dealer and exchange it since you don't want to call, wait for it to be fixed.

Nearly obnoxious

So you expect someone to explain in great technical detail how to troubleshoot/take apart the inside of a large flat screen HDTV??

We could do that.

But many folk are not ready for the costs. There are examples like laptop repair where most systems have at most 18 parts you find you need to stock to repair the usual failures. Batteries, mainboards and displays being in the top 3 yet folk that are not in the repair business are shocked when they discover that board repair is rare.

Really?

Why is this nearly obnoxious? I asked for help, and maybe I posted in the wrong section. If you don't know how, then why did you comment about that?
