Samsung Link Stick for LN46A650

by yvy_cano / December 1, 2009 3:57 AM PST

I purchased a Link Stick for my tv model LN46A650 model and it did not detect it. I called and was told I purchased the wrong link stick but they did not have the correct one. Can anyone please help me find the correct Link Stick? I have been searching online for over an hour and no luck.

Thank you in advance for your help!

yvy_cano,

The WIS08AB** Linkstick is no longer available that I'm aware of. You could try calling Samsung Parts at 800-627-4368, or checking Amazon or Ebay, but from what I've seen lately, they are hard to come by.

LinkStick Offer Still Valid/Possible?
by tsheadings / May 26, 2011 1:47 PM PDT

HDTech,

I have been using an ethernet connection to my Samsung LN46A650 tv since it's purchase. Recently, the ethernet connection on my modem/router has died and I am now considering wireless alternatives for connecting the tv.

I ran across a CNET post from 4/27/09: Wireless Dongle WISo9ABGN -v- WIS08BG2x, in which you offered to send a LinkStick, model: WIS08BG2x to people trying to establish a wireless connection to their tv's. I was wondering if your offer was still valid? I know it has been 2-years since the post but I figured it was worth a shot and better late than never. Hah, hah.

If your offer is still valid/possible, I can send you the pertinant information for my tv. If your offer is no longer valid/possible, I would appreciate a negative reply or any recommendations you have for making a wireless connection. Thanks.

LinkStick Offer Still Valid/Possible?

tsheadings,

That was a little over 2 years ago. I had about 50 LinkSticks to give away for free, and they were gone within only a few weeks. Wow, you found an old link. (Old posts never die, I guess!) Happy

The LinkSticks are hard to find at this point, and here's what I'd suggest. Since they aren't available from any outlet that I'm aware of, I'd recommend using a wireless bridge. Get a wireless bridge from the same manufacturer as your wireless router (so that customer service at Company X doesn't tell you it's Company Y's fault, etc) and have them assist you in setting up a wireless bridge from your modem to your TV.

There will only be news, stocks and local weather available through the InfoLink feature. If you're looking for streaming video or some of the newer Apps, you might be better off with one of the Samsung Blu-Ray players, as some of them have many of the new Apps and a few models have Wi-Fi built in, and will take advantage of your G/N router. That's also an option.
