You can try to calibrate your settings, particularly with the brightness setting. If the setting is too high, it can appear washed out - although on settings, the brightness setting is around 45-55, and should give a pretty good picture.
You might also check to see if your peripheral (cable box, game console, etc) doesn't have additional settings that might be working against the settings to create a "washed out" picture. Since you noted that it happens a lot with the cable box, you might try to have their customer service assist you with some of the settings that may be in the box.
Hi everybody, I bought a Samsung LED UN46B7100 as a demo in store, got a good deal.. I also have samsung LCD a touch of colour 52 (awesome TV). LED seems very good 120 HZ motion led backlight but the picture always seem kind of washed out a lot, too bright or something, and sometimes movies doesn't seem like a movies... I did factory reset on it same thing, and I have HD cable box connected to tv through the HDMI cable. When I compare picture between the two LCD gives me a better darker not as washed out picture....... They are both set to standard picture mode. ANy suggestion what should i do, to get a better picture? I know this is a good tv and it has too have a good picture, but colours are too washed out light like not enough contrast but also there are times when its good.... I also have my ps3 connected to it through HDMI too and playing games its great great colours..... Any settings I should change? I tried to play around a bit but still seems washed out (mostly on watching cable, also all this is on HD channels) ? I heard there is auto dimming ? Whats that for? Also playing blu ray on ps3 picture is good...... Most of the times looks washed out. I hope you guys understand me here. Does it has too do with Dimming?
