Question

Samsung LED UN55F8000 TV power issue

Apr 13, 2015 4:17AM PDT

The TV will periodically "power off" for a split second and come back on. It is almost like a re-boot.

I will notice this is about to occur if I try to adjust the Volume. The TV will not respond to the command and in about 10-15 seconds it will power off and come right back up.

I reset the settings on the TV. There are not any power saving features enabled (and the TV does not turn off completely).

I have tried a different power outlet on a different circuit and the problem continues.

Would the IR Extender have any effect on this?

Answer
I doubt the IR extender.

I see it listed available on February 24, 2013 so here's hoping you get an extended warranty. If not, extend it now. From my last reading you can't claim for 30 days but OOW (out of warranty) repairs are running much more than a warranty renewal.

Be sure this unit is not in an enclosed space and try it without the extender and a full factory reset.

Rob,
I'm sorry to hear this! Is the firmware completely up to date on the unit? Also, have you tried factory resetting the television?
