Question

Samsung LED TV picture goes black

Dec 8, 2013 12:25AM PST

I have a new Samsung LED TV model UN60F6300AFXZA. Have only had it a week. It is connected to my DirecTV DVR via HDMI. A few times after first turning it on, the picture will be on for a second and then go black but sound will continue. Changing to a different channel will cause the same thing to happen. Eventually it will stop. Seems like something related to initially starting up after being off for a while. Anyone have similar experience? Should I return it to the store while I still can?

I bought my Samsung smart tv model UN50H6201AF last than 2 years ago , it was manufactured in October 2014, the image simple disappeared , still has sound, I called Samsung and they did nothing for me cause the warranty had expired . I started doing some researches online and I did all testes possibles and I was hoping the problem was the T-con board as others suggested , I bought the T-con board and all the other 2 boards for it. Still the Tv won't have picture.

After all my researches I'm amazed how many costumers complaining about the same problem,
I always thought Samsung had the best Tvs , now i'm just very disappointed and never buying a Samsung again.

Hi Hankopedia,

Sorry to hear you are having this issue. Do you experience this issue with and other devices connected to the TV?

To date, I have not had this problem with other devices. But to be honest, I have not really used my Blu-ray player or game console since purchasing the TV.

Hi Hankopedia,

I would suggest trying another device connected to the same port that the STB is currently connected to. Also try the STB on another port to see if this issue continues.

Hi cyndbrow,

Sorry to hear this. Please provide the model code of your TV. Also, have you checked that the Eco settings are disabled on your TV?

Hi cyndbrow,

The first step will be to disable the ECO settings on your TV. Also, have you tried any other devices connected to the same port?

Have you tested this out with more than outlet? Also, do you have the TV plugged into a surge protector?

Thanks,

The same thing is happening to my Samsung. It went completely black and I could still hear sound. I've turned it on & off, and no picture will come back. No sound now, either. I've changed the outlet it's plugged into and nothing has changed.

If the replies here don't fix it.

Get estimates but do not bury new pleas in old posts.

Due to some forum issue this thread sometimes doesn't load.

It's an old thread from 3+ years ago so I'll close it now.

Samsung Black out with floating samsung logo
Dec 31, 2014 11:36AM PST

Just wondering if this was ever resolved. I have the same issue although when my screens goes black I also see the floating samsung logo. I hit the smart button and the image comes back. My eco settings are off so I know its not that. Just curious if this is normal behavior.

Thanks!

That's a warranty issue. Not yours to worry about or fix. Let maker or seller fix this.

Samsung picture turns black
Nov 27, 2015 6:21PM PST

Hi. I'm having the same issue with my Samsung tv. The picture turns off after about three minutes and comes back in only if I turn off/on the tv or hit the smarthub button as suggested in a prior post. I've unplugged the tv and tried other outlets. I also switched surge protectors. Does anyone have any information or a solution to this problem ? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Samsung picture turns black....Fix.
Nov 30, 2015 6:11AM PST

On thanksgiving my Samsung 55 " flat screen smart Tv went black after a few minutes. I lost both picture and sound. If I touched the Television I could see pixels were lit up and see that the screen was still on. When I pressed the smart button on the remote the television would come back on. How I fixed it.?/

Go to settings....picture...and reset to factory settings. After doing this it has not happened again.!!! and oh by the way prior to that I turned off, tried resetting the cable box, and unplugged the TV..those did not work....So again...settings...picture....and reset to factory settings. Just saved you $$$$$$$$$

Samsung 60" LED TV picture keeps going black
May 14, 2016 10:27PM PDT

I bought a 60" Samsung LED TV UA60EH6000R (XXM) 3 years ago. Recently it is having the same screen going black problem. I can still hear the sound but no picture. To get the picture back I have to turn the TV off & after a minute back on. I have tried factory reset, firmware upgrade, changing various settings, using different sources to no avail. Every few minutes the picture goes black. This is seems to be a factory defect as evident by the large number of complaints. Is Samsung doing anything about this?

Or today's TVs are only 5 year designs.
May 15, 2016 10:55AM PDT

It's an industry wide issue that the product life span looks to be lower in the quest for lower prices. So I'll agree it's a defect.

Possible solution

Go under menu, then system, then general, then boot logo then switch this to off.

Next Step: Go to menu, then to system, then auto protection time switch this to off.

Hopefully this will work.

Unplug all connections and power to the failing set. Wait about 10 minutes and then apply main power only. See if it will power up and if it does tap the menu button.

If that fails, it almost always needs repair.
