Question

Samsung LED TV 65" clearer line in middle of the screen

Apr 23, 2018 7:09AM PDT

Hi, I just got a Sansung 4k 65" LED TV model UN65MU6100.
Last night unfortunatly I notice a clear thick line from the middle to the left of the screen. Any ideas what could this be? At first I thought it was a divisory line in the middle as if the store demo mode had burnt the screen (altough it's suppossed to be brand new) then I noticed the end of the line at the left.

Clarification Request
How old? Was it a DEMO model?

May be more story here but to me it looks like a panel issue. That's very expensive and should only be considered in warranty.

100% Sure it was not a demo model.

Hi, no it wasn't a demo model. At least as far as I know wich would upset me a lot. It came perfectly packed. I've been using it since this april friday 20th (201Cool Noticed it last night very late and couldn't observe it for too long since I had to work today. It was a very expensive tv, at least here, its depressing. Of course it's under warrany but I was wondering if the may be some other practical solution. Thank you

Be sure to call it in.

The visual aspect looks like a panel to me. I take it is on all screens and not just this one screen. If it's on just one screen then it's just how that setup or such screen was programmed.

If you don't want to deal with the maker's support, return it as defective and check out the new one before you take it home.

Thank you.

Thank you for your advice. Do you think this is a common problem?
I could force my mind to unsee it. I have the bad luck to always notice this kind of things in TVs I purchase, burnt, dead or stucked pixels, spots, marks, anything. I should not allow myself 2 mts close to the TV in the future.

What is mts?

Sorry but I can't figure out what mts is here.

As to your question, it does happen. More so in the cheap models where LCD panel quality is accepted to be less than stellar.

Meters

Sorry, my bad, it's short for meters at least here. About 6.5 feet.

2 meters to a 65 inch screen?

That's very close. Let's check the Carlton Bale chart.

That's getting pretty close to where a person with sharp vision will see pixels. Remember that I take it this is on all screens and not the screen images you shared.

Answer
Solved.

Finally, after some phone calls and e-mails, I got Samsung replacing the TV, so they gave me a new one, and as espected, it had no problema. So, for the momento, the problema is solved. Thank you.
