I need to make correction to #1 above. I realized after posting the above questions that the LCD TV has a "component connection RGB while the DVD player only had either S video OUT and Composite OUT with Yellow (video) and two others for audio. The TV requires an RGB or HDMIconnection. I also had another Magnovox DVD and this has the RGB OUT with 3 cables PLUS two Audios--red and whitle. I will need to find some RGB cables to hook this other DVD player up...I am sure it will now work. I will geet back and post the results but for now consider Question #1 answered. Thanks...
Hello and thanks in advance.
I recently recieved (gift) a Samsung LED TV model UN40F5000 and have 3 questions regarding component hook up and my cable provider which is Charter:
1) My DVD player only plays in B&W would this problem be solved by using YPrPb cables or do I need to upgrade to a Blu Ray disc plyr ? No HDMI connections on DVD player though?!
2) An RF Switch is used for co-axial. What is used with HDMI connections. I only have two HDMI ports and need 3 should I upgrade DVD to Blu-Ray.
3) And probably the most important issue is that Charter broadcasts in 1080i resoulution while the TV is 1080p. Should I return this TV for exchange or will I be able to set the resolution on the Samsung TV to 780p AS SUGGESTED BY CHARTER CABLE CARRIER. I cannot find a way to do this on the TV Menu.
Help would be appreciated. Thanks again.
