Question

Samsung le40a756r1m screen problems

Jan 17, 2015 11:12PM PST

Hello everyone,
I was just wondering if there's anyone who could maybe give some advice as to what is possibly wrong with my tv and what might need fixing?

It's a Samsung le40a756r1m. The screen is covered with vertical lines all different colours. If I press the menu button and scroll along or press other buttons, the lines moves sideways as though the screen is still showing the commands but the picture has just been replaced by the lines. Sometimes if i press the menu button etc, the screen will fade to black still with faint lines around the edges and then the full lines appear again. It's difficult to explain what it looks like - I do have some pictures but not sure if I'm able to post them?

I have just let the tv warm up a bit and it is now showing a pictue but it's still made up of lines - almost as if the picture is fine and then there is a layer of now horizontal lines over the top.

If anyone can suggest what the problem could be I'd be very grateful, thank you.

I see some ideas on youtubes

But it really can't nail if it's the panel, control board, main board or connections. All it really tells us is it's one of those non-user-serviceable areas.

It's not a setting so get repair estimates.

I have also had a look on youtube,

but can't seem to find anything that is the same as the problem I have.

<span>This is a photo of how my screen currently looks - the lines seem to get less obvious as the tv warms up, but never fully disappear.

I can't guess why all those spans but it certainly looks like the usual. It does not tell us which non-user-serviceable part it is. It's certainly not something I've seen cleared up by reset or a setting.
Get estimates.
