General discussion

Samsung LE32C530

Jul 22, 2010 5:04AM PDT

Ok so ive downloaded th latest firmware for this tv which is T-TDT5DEUC-1019.0 but everytime i go to software upgrade it always says that there are no files to be upgraded! I know how to do the upgrade properly as i also have a B650 and ive never had such problems with it.

The software version on my C530 at the moment is T-MSX5DEUC-1002.1, does anyone know how i can upgrade the firmware or what the problem may be??

upgrade
Aug 26, 2010 1:46AM PDT

I understand that some user with v1002 cannot upgrade to v1019 and users with v1019 to 2004.1, right?
I talk with a samsung guy on telephone and told me to wait, maybe they will release another version but don't know when.
Anyone updated from v1019 to v2004.1 succesfully?
Changelog?
thx

The digi cam works properly, but is not released for population right now. It is for headend. For population is HUMAX HD for receiving dtv. (dvb-c)

Enabling Subtitle
Oct 29, 2010 1:59AM PDT

On my 32C530, the subtitle function is disabled and my remote skips it. Tried to see a movie from a stick, with a .srt file with the same name as the movie file, yet I got no subtitle. I did the upgrade with no problem but I have the same problem.

Can you help me?

What did you create the subtitle with?
Oct 29, 2010 2:05AM PDT

Today I'm encountering folk that don't create these files or know much about them. To fix this on devices that can display subtitles (a discussion in itself) I find I need to open up the file and look for any defect.

I've found the PC video players to shrug off errors which is sad because when folk toss these onto a BD player or TV they may expect it to work (it won't.)

Yep! I have no clue about my .srt. It was downloaded from a subtitles site.
But the subtitle function becomes operational in the Menu settings only when finding a good .srt????

We need to dissect that a bit further.

"the subtitle function becomes operational in the Menu settings only when finding a good .srt????"

I have to answer no to that. For that to work the entire SRT would have to be read, then a check to see if the SRT information fits or belongs to the video file. That's a lot of work for the CPU in the TV and folk are unlikely to wait that long.

Since it's a download you are at the mercy of those that write the file or you can dive in and research what's inside the file and learn to read it. The ones I've read are plain text or you find helper apps on your PC to edit them.

Aug 27, 2010 4:31AM PDT

There is a new version of firmware T-TDT5DEUC-1020.0 and I upgraded succesfully but to T-MSX5DEUC-2004.1 no chance.
The version number is older even if the release date is newer, strange!!!
Anyone who allready updated to v2004.1 give a try to "update" to T-TDT5DEUC-1020.0 ?

You need to check which firmware version you have, if it is "T-TDT5DEUC" you download and use "T-TDT5DEUC-1020.0". If its "T-MSX5DEUC" you use "T-MSX5DEUC-2004.1".

Different version
Sep 6, 2010 11:03PM PDT

Now I'm sure, this TV is sold in 2 different version, T-MSX5DEUC and T-TDT5DEUC, and cannot be upgraded from one version to another, simple...

newer version that current firmware downloads
Sep 10, 2010 5:22AM PDT

Where in the menu can this version be found. Tried with both firmwares and it did not work!

current version is: 2010/03/13/001010

Is it possible that I have a newer version on TV than these firmware downloads are? Does not make nay sense, any comment?

Did you unzip the file, and launch it on the desktop? Or did you copy the unzipped file over to the usb-drive?

Yes, I unzipped exe on the desktop to thumb drive. Tried both files none of them worked. Any suggestions?

Upgrade worked
Sep 10, 2010 4:21PM PDT

OK! It's embarrassing. The trouble was with the thumb drive. I tried with different one and it worked seamlessly.
New code fixes the trouble with CI module.

Thanks for the hints.
