Samsung LE26R88BD 26 sound problems

Feb 19, 2009 1:24AM PST

Hi there.

i have a Samsung LE26R88BD 26" and am having problems with the volume. The tv has gone back to it's original settings and i am unable to go into the menu to change any settings. When i turn press the volume up it turn's itself down within twenty seconds. When i press the menu button (on the control and tv) it only shows on the screen as long as i have the button pressed in.
Thanks in advance for your help. Cheers JB

Shop Mode?

jackblack36,

It may be that your television is in a Shop Mode, meaning that it returns to default settings. Try holding in the Menu button (on the TV) for about 10 seconds to see if you can get back into a mode where you can customize your picture.

If that doesn't work, try pressing the volume button on the television up, let go, and THEN pressing the Menu button down for 10 seconds.

Keep me posted.

First of all can i thank you for the reply.
I have tried as you suggested and it goes into shop mode from these actions and still no volume once it goes back into dynamic picture.
Thanks for any further help. Cheers JB

JB,

I'm not sure what causes the volume to go down after 20 seconds. Did this just start happening?

Yeah it started last saturday. I was watching the rugby and it just went to zero on it's own.

Wild guess?

jackblack36,

If I had to make a wild guess, I would say that maybe the connecton button on the television is intermittently making contact on the bezel. But that's just an assumption. I might consider calling and getting the unit serviced in your local area.
