My husband and I purchased this TV in January 2010. About two years ago it started turning off after only 30 seconds. Sometimes the TV would stay on but the problem got increasingly worse, and now my beautiful TV is useless. I don't even get enough time to access the menu screen. I called Samsung Canada in January 2014 to ask and was curtly told that the TV only had a 1 year warranty. He suggested that I should have purchased an extended warranty. We specifically bought a Samsung in order to get a quality TV--we have several other Samsung devices. However, after this experience, we will no longer be loyal. If a family pays $900 all in for a brand new TV, they should naturally get many years out of the product. This problem is obviously rampant---BOO Samsung.
