The display issues can be panel, connections or boards. You didn't reveal if you are a TV tech so here's a video on a connection issue. No, and no there is rarely a video of the exact failure but I think it's close enough. The age factor is also why I'd put it on the bench to do this work and hope. The cost if it's that is under 20 bucks in parts (assuming you have to buy the full tube.)

I have a Samsung LCD model LN46A500T1FXZA. It is several years old and way out of warranty, but has worked great for all of those years. I just got back from being out of town for a week and all of a sudden, it is having serious issues with the color and has a thin blue line around the border. The greens and blues are the colors mostly going crazy.
I unplugged all inputs, tried the variety of peripherals plugged into different inputs, and unplugged the TV overnight. For the first few minutes after being unplugged, the color worked again, and then it went bad again.
Thoughts? I have some photo links pasted below (if you all would rather they be hosted on another site, let me know, and I'll move them).
Thanks for any help or thoughts on the problem!
