I've got a Samsung LE37D580 37 inch LCD TV, and I've noticed that when the picture on screen goes dark, the screen blinks/blanks. I'm not sure if this is something the TV's started doing this or if I've only recently noticed this. I suspect it's the latter. It seems to be affected by the brightness.
For example, when if I watch 'The Thing' on Blu-Ray, with the brightness below 45, when the opening credits fade out between names, the screen momentarily goes totally black. But I have the brightness higher, it doesn't do this. Is this some feature of the Samsung tellies? There are no power saving settings turned on.
