jac0077,
I apologize for the amount of time it has taken to address this.
One of the most common reasons why you'd get audio and no video is due to the handshake issue on the STB. If the set top box was already on, and you turned on the television and only got audio, turning the STB off and then on again would re-instate a handshake and likely pass the video. The video isn't sent by default until that handshake due to HDCP issues, and depending on the box, the HDCP (copy protection technology) may be anywhere from lax to extremely sensitive.
Keep me posted.

Hi folks!
Maybe I am overreacting, but I wanted to ask if anyone has had this problem. I have a very new Samsung LN32A550. This morning I powered it up and noticed right away that while there was audio, there was no video. Both TV and STB were on. I have had the HDMI issue like so many others have and as a result, switched to component cables.
Does anyone have any idea why the TV would come on with no video? By the way, I powered it off then on again and it was fine. Could the component cables be slipping? They are not placed on a flat surface but are dangling.
Thanks!
