Question

Samsung LCD 5 550 weak or no signal

Jan 8, 2015 9:52AM PST

My elderly mother has a housekeeper who comes in to clean, and she wiped a dust cloth across the bottom of the TV set. Ever since, the tv has a gray screen that says "weak or no signal". I've tried everything I can think of get that set working again, doing the auto channel thing, checking connections, rebooting the digital cable box, resetting the cable antennae, and nothing is working. Does anyone have any idea what happened and any suggestions what I can do to get it back up again? The on/of switch, menu, etc are located in that bottom right corner where she ran the dust rag.

Resolved! Apparently the dang TV is so sensitive that the dust rag caused the source to jump off the HDMI2 setting. It's working now. Don't know how to show the thread as resolved, though.

maybe it was the heat of her hand crossing in front of the infrared sensor?
