Samsung LCD 40"LN-R08D v. Panasonic 42" TH-42PX50U (PlasHD)

Aug 29, 2005 6:27AM PDT

Greetings,

I am considering getting the Samsung LCD or a 42" Panasonic HD Plasma (not the industrial one, but the slightly stepped up consumer version). Those two have the pricing points I want $2000-2500.

Basically I am going to use it & hook it up to Dish Network for mostly sports and movies. I might buy their HD package.

Could anyone offer some comparisons between the two - or at least their experience with either of them? Alternatively, would you have a recommendation for something better?

Have you gone to a store and looked at the two sets???
They are both 1280x720 sets, but LCD has different image apperance from plasma. Your choice. John

As John Suggested...Go Look At Both...It's A No-Brainer....

...Plasma has no peer.

Go off axis on the LCD and tell me how it looks. Do the same with plasma. Like I said, a no-brianer.
