Question

Samsung LCD 37" TV - Photo Negative Screen

by SouthPaww44 / September 3, 2013 2:55 PM PDT

Hello,

I'm trying to identify the cause of the "photo negative" screen that is now on my Samsung LCD, model LN37A550P3FXZA.

So far I have:
- Replaced power supply board
- Check capacitors, they are all good
- Ran electrical tape underneath the circuit boards that may have been touching metal pieces
- Cleaned out any dust

I am wondering if it may be the T-Con board or the actual LCD panel that needs to be replaced.

If a T Con board is bad, will the screen give the "photo negative" appearance?

Any help and tips would be greatly appreciated!

Did you check the service manual's troubleshooting flow chart?

Nod to main board or panel.

I don't have the service manual and would prefer not to pay $20 bucks to download it. Based on my online research, it is either the T-Con board, or the LCD panel. Is there anyway to narrow it down and test the T-Con board?

Does anyone know, If a T Con board is bad, will the screen give the "photo negative" appearance or will the screen just be white?

Thank you!

But without a service manual it would be nothing but guesses. The manual is what techs use. At least it has one.

Try AVS Forum since folk seem to guess there.

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
